The Norval Trip

On monday the middle school classes went on a field trip that was at Norval a camp that is owned by the school UCC.

Things that I think that my group did bad was the amount of turns that each person got to have. In the amount of time that we got to play at the low ropes we didn't use the time effectively. One example was when our teacher was telling us to stop talking but we didn't and so we wasted time to figure out the problem by not letting her explain. My group was one of the crazy groups just fooling around. The people that were in my group was Jordan, Hannah, Alex, Lindsey, Saski,Tyler,Aleda,Emilie.V and myself.

Somethings that I think that we did well in was our idea list. My group did well in thinking of different ideas for the situation. For every situation each person got to say their opinion on what we should do to accomplish our goal. Our first task was to get a tire over a tall 10 foot log But we couldn't use any supplies or tools from the forest. The first idea was Aleda's and it was to make a pyramid out of the people that we had. We had put the large people on the bottom and the smaller people at the top. Fortunately this first great idea did not work.

The next task was to walk across a wire from tree to tree with only a short rope for support on the way there. For a little while we got on and tried different things to get across but soon we thought of using each other to help other people who were on the thin wire. Our idea was the very front person would have to go across with no help to the next tree. Once there they would pass the rope to the next person. Meanwhile the second person would be passing the rope to the third person.

Thank you for reading this Blog and it was about the middle school going to the camp Norval.

  1. Welcome to blogging Marcus. Glad to see two posts online this week.

This is a good summary of your day, and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed yourself. Your voice definitely comes through in your writing - watch out for the dreaded run-on sentence, it will sneak up on you when you're not looking!

I wonder if it would be possible to calculate how much people miss out on by not listening to or following instructions. I think we'd all be surprised by the result - but glad to see you made the connection.
